Covid-19 Balance: Minsal reports 8,716 new cases and 15.47% national positivity

The Ministry of Health made a new balance on the situation of Covid-19 in the country, where 8,716 new cases were reported, of which 6,169 correspond to symptomatic people and 711 did not present symptoms. In addition, 1,836 positive PCR tests were recorded that were not reported.

In this way, the total number of people diagnosed with Covid-19 reached 3,323,324 and recovered patients reached 3,208,763 since the arrival of the coronavirus in Chile.

On the other hand, the death of 34 people in the last 24 hours was detailed, thus reaching 44,039 since the start of the pandemic, while positivity reached 15.47% nationwide.

As for active cases, these reached 62,281 people and PCR tests amounted to 49,263 in the last 24 hours, thus reaching the total amount of 34,210,544.

Meanwhile, there are 931 people hospitalized for Covid-19 in Intensive Care Units. Of these, 726 are supported by mechanical ventilation. Along the same lines, the hospital capacity has 2,503 critical beds enabled and 257 critical beds available.

Positivity in the Metropolitan Region reached 10.09%, while the regions with the highest increase in new confirmed cases in the last seven days are Ñuble, O’Higgins, La Araucanía and Biobío.
