The percentage of coronavirus detection tests that are positive fell to 23.5 on average nationwide in the first week of March, after five consecutive weeks of declining infections of the infection. Information from the Ministry of Health (Ssa) indicates that in that period only three states were below 10 percent.

Meanwhile, Chihuahua with 37 percent, Jalisco (36), Baja California (30) and Nayarit (30 percent) reported the highest positivity.

In the now seventh week of decline in virus transmission, hospitalization in general beds is still more than 30 percent in Nuevo León and Aguascalientes, which are among the 18 states that register occupancy above the national average, which the last Sunday stood at 9 percent.

In the occupancy of beds with a fan, on Monday the occupancy of these spaces was 7 percent of the national average. In this case, ten entities reported a higher occupation yesterday, where Tlaxcala stands out with 43 and Oaxaca with 16 percent.

Mexico City yesterday reported an occupancy of 13.5 percent in general beds and 8 percent in those with a fan; while positivity stood at 15.2 percent in epidemiological week 9 (from February 17 to March 5), according to data from the SSa. The percentage represents a decrease of more than two thirds compared to the second week of the year, when infections rebounded and the indicator stood at 52.6 percent.

The decrease in transmission, reflected in the positivity rate, is also evident in the entities that had the highest percentages of laboratory tests with positive results between January 9 and 15, 2022 (second week) and that still register high levels of the indicator.

The situation in Quintana Roo stands out, where positivity stood at 91 percent and the most recent report indicates that it is already at 26 percent. Nayarit went from 87 to 30 percent; Sinaloa from 85 to 14; and Chihuahua went from 84 to 37 percent.
