At the headquarters of the Venezuelan School of Planning located in La Rinconada, Caracas, the National Meeting for the Construction of the New Communal Electoral System was held, with the participation of spokespersons of the Popular Power of Caracas and the 24 states of the country.
On the day, more than 200 spokespersons formed work tables to discuss critical issues and make their contributions on electoral participation, Communal Electoral Commissions, Communal Electoral Registry, electoral centers and logistics.
In this regard, the Vice Minister for Community and Social Participation and Organization, Ronald Solé, commented on the levels of participation in the different Popular Consultations that were held this year, while pointing out that it is necessary to guarantee efficiency in the execution and accountability of the projects executed in order to guarantee credibility and confidence in the election of the Electoral System.
For his part, the Rector of the Electoral Power, Leonel Parica, applauded the enthusiasm and work carried out by the Communes and the Communal Circuits for the consolidation of the new Communal Electoral System. “Now the Electoral Power will assume with all of you the development of the elections at the national level, which is a great achievement since it demonstrates the participatory and leading democracy that exists in Venezuela.”
Likewise, he indicated that it is important to “automate the electoral process, make a thorough record of how many voters there are in the territories, what are the appropriate spaces to vote, be honest about the method and times in which the different Popular Consultations are carried out (before, during and after) in order to optimize the new electoral architecture.”
