In a special ceremony, the Huánuco Local Educational Management Unit (UGEL), under the direction of Francisco Pérez Naupay, awarded medals and diplomas to approximately 300 Regular Basic Education students from public and private institutions, winners of the various 2025 school competitions, also granting congratulatory resolutions to their teacher advisors.
The event was chaired by the head of the Pedagogical Management Area, Mg. Juan Carlos Aguirre Noreña, who highlighted the students as the central axis of these skills promoted by the Ministry of Education, recognizing that their achievements are the result of the joint effort with directors and parents; Likewise, he urged more schoolchildren to participate and raise the quality of the works in future editions to stand out in the regional and national stages.
Aguirre Noreña stressed that these competitions are aligned with the development of competencies of the National Curriculum, highlighting emblematic competitions such as the “José María Arguedas” Narrative and Essay Award, the “EUREKA” science fair, “El Perú Lee”, the School Floral Games and “Crea y Emprende”, the latter focused on productive innovation.
He also emphasized the Mathematics Olympiad (ONEM) as a mechanism to close educational gaps in learning achievements and the incorporation of the new “José Faustino Sánchez Carrión” contest to revalue the hero of independence, in addition to the discipline of Citizen Dissertation; Finally, he thanked the management of the specialists and the head of the area, Niria Fernández Isla, for the success of the contests.
