President Claudia Sheinbaum described as very positive the meeting she held with her counterparts in a room set up at the Kennedy Center, where the groups for the soccer tournament were formed.
“We had a long meeting with President Trump, with the Prime Minister, we talked about many issues and we agreed to continue working. It was a cordial meeting, it was a positive meeting,” he said in an interview with media representatives.
When asked what idea Trump has about Mexico, the president stated that it is an extraordinary country. “We are a great, extraordinary country and we are doing very well. We are going to continue working, that was the most important agreement,” he indicated.
Sheinbaum reported that President Trump invited her to return to Washington, although a date has yet to be set.
Before the draw, the US president was asked about the Mexican president to which he responded: “She is doing a good job. She is a good woman, very excellent work, it is an honor, and we are setting all the records and she is helping us set those records.”
The face-to-face meeting, which lasted one hour, between the three leaders took place a few months before the review of the Trade Agreement between Mexico, the United States and Canada was carried out.
