Delcy Rodríguez: in Venezuela there is no submission or subordination

The executive vice president of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez, stated during her speech in the National Assembly that despite the siege, the blockade and the threats, Venezuela “is emancipated (…) there is no submission, there is no subordination, so that you can understand it.”

Rodríguez said that Venezuelans were “tattooed” by Father Liberator’s proclamation in 1818 before the Congress of Angostura and that currently Venezuelans have “reinvented” themselves.

He said that “in the midst of the psychological terrorism” that the country has experienced in more than 23 weeks of a “dangerous” deployment of US military forces in the Caribbean Sea, despite threats and attacks, Venezuela is standing.

The vice president argued that the hemisphere has had numerous “interventions, invasions, coups d’état and the most sophisticated new forms of electoral fraud that we know to attack and seize political power in countries like Ecuador, for example, where there was electoral fraud so that drug trafficking continued to prevail.”

He pointed out that the Government has not hesitated to uphold the truth about Venezuela. «Everything else is a bunch of lies to justify an intervention and as the president denounced before the OPEC and OPEC + countries, it is a bunch of lies to get hold of Venezuela’s energy resources. “Of the vastest oil reserve that exists in the entire world,” he warned.

He recalled that Venezuela has the largest oil reserve in the world. «The only one with that volume, with that amount of oil so historically desired by the United States of America. And that is why when we study history, we know what it has been like to have a sovereign policy over our energy resources or surrenderist policies.

Guanaco Lake: our resources for our development

The vice president affirmed that a sign of sovereignty was the fact that President Nicolás Maduro signed the special development and investment plan for Lake Guanoco, which “is the largest asphalt lake on the planet. “It was Guzmán Blanco who had given it to two Americans, Hamilton and Phillips.”

He reported that 2 years later they decided to sell it to another company in the United States, the Bermuda Company. «And so the asphalt from Venezuela reached the streets of New York, the main avenues of Washington, Pennsylvania Avenue. This is how he arrived in France on the asphalt of the Champs-Élysées, the Champs Elysées. “He came to Brazil, he came to the world.”

The vice president said that last Wednesday, the President made “an extraordinary announcement. Development plan with national and international investment for Lake Guanoco and 25% is for the projects of the communes and communal councils. It is the asphalt for the people. “Our natural resources for national development.”
