The defense attorney for some defendants in the “red devil” bus compensation case, Emidio Manzane, deepened the issue of the preliminary hearing that began this Monday at the Roberto Durán Arena, and in which there are 542 defendants.
The lawyer clarified that this is a preliminary hearing to read the fiscal hearing of the case and not a substantive hearing.
“It is not yet known if the accused will be called to formal trial, because this is a process that is being developed with the inquisitorial system,” he remarked.

The Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office of the Public Ministry will begin this Tuesday, the presentation of its allegations in which it will support charges for the alleged commission of the crime of embezzlement for 542 people, in the midst of the investigation that is being carried out for the supposedly irregular economic compensation to owners of “red devils” buses in 2010, which caused a $24 million property loss to the State.
