The JEP confirmed that 228 of the 589 victims of false positives in Antioquia are still missing amid new hearings.
This Thursday, December 5, the first of four hearings scheduled by the J.E.P.where nearly 40 appearing parties recognize more than 580 murders who were presented as combat casualties in the department of Antioquia.
These crimes were perpetrated by members of six battalions assigned to the IV Brigade in Antioch.
Of the total victims, 228 are still missing13 have been identified in the judicial process.
Between 2002 and 2003, 147 people were murdered and illegitimately presented as combat casualties by members of the IV Brigade and the Bajes Battalion; and “between 2004 and 2007, 442 people were killed by members of BAJES, BIOPS, BIPEB, BIGIR, GMJCO and AFEUR 5″.

According to the JEP, the magistrate confirmed acts of torture against direct victims and family members; In addition, 22 cases have already been documented and 41 victims are known, mainly peasants from eastern Antioquia.
In a report, the JEP assures that the victims were tortured to force them to hand over information, war material or alleged contacts with the guerrilla.

It should be noted that, regarding this 03 Antioquia case, the JEP charged 39 former members of the IV Brigade and 2 civilians.
The Truth Recognition Room established that the general (r) Mario Montoya Uribethen commander of the IV Brigade, imposed pressure for results in terms of “liters”, “jets”, “rivers”, “barrels” or “tanks of blood”, turning this logic into a recurring order within the troops.
At this moment, the retired general is accused of more than 104 extrajudicial executions.
The second session will be held in Medellín between December 15 and 17, and in this space it is expected that those appearing will recognize the crimes that occurred in the Aburrá Valley, the west and the north of Antioquia between 2004 and 2007.
