The United States ratifies maximum alert and urges its citizens not to travel to Venezuela

Está teniendo efectos la presión de Estados Unidos

The United States recommended that all citizens and legal permanent residents currently in Venezuela leave the country “immediately,” while reminding that the embassy’s ability to provide consular assistance is “extremely limited.”

The United States Government reiterated this Thursday, December 4, its level 4 warning about the travel ban for Venezuela, the highest classification in its international alert system.

The update was issued by the State Department’s Office of Consular Affairs, which warned of serious risks to the security of US citizens within Venezuelan territory.

According to the statement, Venezuela continues to present highly unstable conditions, with threats that include arbitrary detentions, torture, kidnappings, terrorism, civil unrest, as well as a profound deterioration of basic services and health infrastructure.

US authorities were emphatic in recommending that all citizens and legal permanent residents currently in Venezuela leave the country “immediately,” while recalling that the embassy’s ability to provide consular assistance is “extremely limited.”

The warning also highlighted the arbitrary application of local laws and the absence of judicial guarantees, factors that increase the vulnerability of American travelers.

Two days ago, the foreign ministries of Sweden and Norway They announced that, as of December 2, they advise against all travel to Venezuela due to the “security situation in the country.”

With this they join other countries that have recommended their citizens not to travel to Venezuela after the president of the United States, Donald Trump, declared last Saturday the total closure of Venezuelan airspace.
