The relatives of the Colombians detained in Venezuela are protesting again this Thursday, December 4, at the Simón Bolívar international bridge, as they had announced in recent days.
According to the protesters, the closure this time will be indefinite, not intermittent. They will only allow pedestrians to cross.
They specified that they will maintain the protest until there is a timely response from the competent authorities in Venezuela.
According to the figures handled by relatives, at least 20 Colombians remain detained in Venezuela for political reasons. Neither the Colombian Foreign Ministry nor the Venezuelan authorities have given a precise number.

The relatives of those detained in Venezuela have already protested on other occasions at the border. On October 11, they closed the crossing from 8:00 am and demanded information about the prisoners, many of them with more than a year behind bars, and asked for their immediate release.
After this protest, on October 24, 18 Colombians who were detained in Rodeo I were released after talks between the Petro and Maduro administrations.
The relatives warned that if new releases were not made they would close the passage again. In the agreement reached with Vice Chancellor Mauricio Jaramillo, they established a deadline until November 29.
