The president of the republic José Jerí Oré He visited Tacna today accompanied by various ministers, vice ministers and general secretaries of the different ministries, to carry out a series of activities as part of the State’s rapprochement with the regions.
After greeting the main authorities of the region, he went to the Tacna Civic Center where he participated in the raising ceremony of the national flag and the flag of Tacna.

At the ceremony he was accompanied by the regional governor of Tacna Luis Torres Robledo and the provincial mayor of Tacna Pascual Guisa Bravo.
He specified that in previous days he had already visited the border area with Chile, to verify immigration control, implement actions and stop the entry of undocumented migrants.
Multi-sector agenda
“Today I have a different agenda, I have already visited the border a couple of days ago; the ministers, vice ministers and general secretaries of the entire government are in Tacna to carry out various activities in their sectors and at the end of the day surely each one will report on the actions they have been carrying out”he explained.
Regarding the incident that occurred on Monday when about 50 illegal foreigners entered by force taking advantage of the fact that there were only two police officers, he responded that it was a regrettable situation, that internal disciplinary measures will be taken through the corresponding channels and that what corresponds now to the involuntary error is correction.

“They took action on the matter as soon as the incident occurred, that is what is important, within the bad things that happened now what matters is protecting the border, as appropriate, within the framework of the state of emergency that has been declared and no type of error can be allowed”he remarked.
After the ceremony at the Civic Center, President José Jerí traveled to Fort Arica as a guest to await the military maneuvers carried out by the Peruvian Army.
