The game
Even supported by more than 73 thousand fans, the team led by coach Filipe Luís did not find it easy against a Ceará team that played with low lines to deny spaces for the Gávea team’s attack.
As a result, Flamengo exchanged passes from one side to the other and could only finish from outside the area. Vozão only came into danger sporadically, with balls thrown from the defense to the isolated center forward Pedro Raul.
Meanwhile, in Belo Horizonte, Palmeiras didn’t need long to open the scoring against Atlético-MG. Eight minutes into the first half, Galo’s defense faltered and the ball fell to the foot of Vitor Roque, who hit the ball for a partial save by Everson. Argentine Flaco López took advantage of the rebound and hit the ball into the goal.
Verdão continued to improve and expanded before the break. Defender Gustavo Gómez made a long throw to Allan. Full-back Guilherme Arana tried to clear it, but the ball fell to the Palmeiras striker, who hit the ball to extend the advantage of the team led by Portuguese Abel Ferreira in the 19th minute. The combination of this result with the draw in Rio de Janeiro prevented, at that moment, the definition of the title.
However, at the Maracanã stadium, Flamengo started to force plays on the wings. And it was in this way that he managed to open the scoring in the 36th minute. Colombian Carrascal played deep in the area for Samuel Lino, who hit it under the legs of goalkeeper Bruno Ferreira.

After the break, Flamengo, who lowered their rotation after clearly feeling the wear and tear caused by the celebrations after winning the Copa Libertadores title last Saturday (29), showed a lot of maturity to manage the advantage against a Ceará team that improved a little after coach Léo Condé put more creative players on the field.
In Belo Horizonte, Palmeiras, who played the entire second half with one man less after the expulsion of full-back Piquerez in the last moments of the opening half, managed to score the third with young striker Luighi.
However, the victory of Abel Ferreira’s team was worthless, as at Maracanã Flamengo held on to the victory until the final whistle and let out the cry of Brazilian champion.
