Harvey Colchado, former head of the Diviac, announced his candidacy for the Chamber of Deputies in the 2026 General Elections. The retired officer made the announcement through a video published on his social networks, where he appears on the bridge where he was last seen in the PNP uniform.
“Many thought that it was a punishment or an offense to be standing on this bridge, because taking care of a bridge or dismantling a criminal organization has the same objective: protecting citizens,” he said.
Colchado announced that he will run for the Ahora Nación party, of the former rector of the National University of Engineering Alfonso López Chau.
“Today I present myself as a deputy for Lima, with the Ahora Nación party, with Alfonso López Chau and a team of capable people,” he indicated.
In the description of the video, the candidate announces that he will go with number 1 through the capital. “We will work to eradicate, once and for all, the corrupt and criminals who have done so much damage to Peru,” he said.
