The AC Polytechnic Foundation, which brings together hundreds of graduates, filed criminal and civil lawsuits against Arturo Reyes Sandoval, general director of the National Polytechnic Institute (IPN), for possible embezzlement, influence peddling and illicit use of powers.
In a statement, the executive director of the foundation, Claudia Roberta Paniagua, noted that the complaints were filed due to “irregularities, non-compliance and arbitrary provisions unilaterally imposed by the official.”
Among them, the termination of the collaboration agreement between the IPN and the foundation, as well as the creation of the Corazón Guinda Blanco association, which usurps donee functions.
Reyes Sandoval reported yesterday that, in compliance with the request of the Secretariat of Anti-Corruption and Good Government with a view to carrying out an investigation, he temporarily suspended Javier Tapia Santoyo, Secretary of Administration until November 29.
In addition, he ordered IPN personnel to provide the information required by the anti-corruption authorities and called for an “investigation in accordance with the legal framework.”
The measure was announced at the time of the presentation of the complaints against Reyes Sandoval, whom the foundation accuses of “illicit use of powers” to form the Corazón Guinda y Blanco association.
The foundation claims that it has received three letters with “fraudulent” requests, which contravene the statutes of the collaboration agreement with the IPN, to send resources to an account of the new association.
