Delivery of the ‘Salary per Year’ to retirees from the Armed Forces begins

Santo Domingo. The Ministry of Defense (MIDE) began this Tuesday the delivery of the “Salary Check per Year” to the soldiers recently transferred to the honorable status of retirement, fulfilling the previous announcement and reaffirming their commitment to dignify those who dedicated decades of service to the defense and security of the Dominican Republic.

The delivery marks a significant step in the social protection of retired military personnel.

The activity was carried out at the facilities of the Social Security Institute of the Armed Forces (ISSFFAA), headed by the Minister of Defense, Lieutenant General Carlos Antonio Fernández Onofretogether with the director of the ISSFFAA, rear admiral Henry Antonio Guzmán Taveras.

During the event, the head of the MIDE highlighted that this payment is not a gift, but an acquired right in accordance with article 169 of Law 139-13, which establishes compensation according to years of service within the Comprehensive Social Security System of the Armed Forces.

Fernández Onofre explained that the benefit comes from the contributions made by the soldiers themselves during their active life in the institution.

The minister pointed out that this delivery constitutes not only legal compliance, but also a moral obligation towards those who held the National Flag with honor and embodied discipline, values ​​and spirit of service.

MIDE reported that delivery will continue according to the established schedule, in order to ensure that each beneficiary receives their compensation in an orderly and timely manner.
