The National Liberation Movement – Tupamaros warns about the situation in the Southern Caribbean, which puts the sovereignty of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela at high risk.
The attack by the United States once again puts the peace and stability of our South America at stake.
It is unacceptable that a state acts as judge and gendarme of the world, and that, going against all international norms, attacks a people and puts the peace of the entire continent at risk.
We denounce the excuses that, with the argument of “fight against drug trafficking”, without presenting any evidence and with a brutal media campaign, attempt to justify military deployment and actions on our continent.
Direct interference in internal processes, such as those experienced in Chile, or more recently, in Honduras, warns us and exposes the old doctrine of understanding ourselves as a “backyard”, having no limits to impose our interests by all means.
We call on political and social organizations to defend the sovereignty and self-determination of the Venezuelan people and condemn any type of military intervention or escalation of violence.
For National Liberation and Socialism There will be a homeland for everyone!
MLN Tupamaros
