Changes in Petroperú: Raúl Jaime Anccasi joins the board of directors to replace Óscar Zapata

The General Meeting of Shareholders of Petroperú approved the incorporation of Raúl Jaime Anccasi as a new member of the board of directors of the state company, as of November 29, 2025.

The decision was adopted in a universal session held on November 28, in which the resignation of Óscar Gerardo Zapata Alcázar, whose last day in office was November 28, was also formalized. The Board thanked the services provided by Zapata and authorized Gustavo Alonso Galván Pareja to sign the necessary documentation to finalize the agreements.

Anccasi’s appointment comes accompanied by previous observations. In 2023, a control visit report from the Comptroller General’s Office to the Regional Government of Ayacucho identified that the governor, Wilfredo Oscorima Núñez, appointed eight officials, including Anccasi, in positions that did not meet the minimum experience requirements established by regulations. The case generated criticism of the selection processes in the regional government and motivated subsequent control actions.

As recalled, the governor of Ayacucho has accumulated more than ten investigations for corruption, including embezzlement of funds and incompatible negotiations. The most controversial was the Rolex case, in which it gave three expensive watches to President Dina Boluarte.

Petroperú indicated that in an upcoming board session it will define whether the new member will have the status of independent or non-independent director. The change occurs at a time when the company’s new administration has the duty to open up about the conditions it is in, as well as determine the measures to reverse them.
