CDMX is committed to cyclists, electric mobility and rescue of Metro L3

“This extraordinary growth will allow us to expand and consolidate actions aimed at protecting those who walk and cycle, improving urban infrastructure, reinforcing road safety and promoting more accessible and humane environments,” indicates the 2026 Budget project.

The 2025-2030 Cycle Plan for the city aims to build 300 kilometers of new cycle lanes during the Brugada administration, as well as the installation of 50 public bike parking spaces.

Added to the expansion of Ecobici bike sharing system which by 2026 will grow with 15,000 bicycles, in addition to the 9,300 that the system already has. There will also be new coverage points in the city.

“The creation and adaptation of specific infrastructure for pedestrians and cyclists, massive bike parking, the expansion of the individual transportation system by public bicycle and training and road culture programs will allow the use of these modalities to increase,” indicates the budget project.

By 2026, it is planned to invest in the expansion of public transportation, especially with electric mobility options.

Next year the capital government will build three new Cablebús lines: with 4,559.7 million pesos the Line 5 from Magdalena Contreras to Álvaro Obregónwhich will connect with the Mixcoac Metro station, and the Line 6 from Milpa Alta to Tláhuacwhich will take you to the Tláhuac Metro station.

At the same time, with resources from the Government of Mexico, the Line 4 of the Cablebús from Tlalpan to Coyoacánwhich will connect with the Universidad del Metro station. 4,754 million pesos from the federation will be allocated for this project.

With 900 million pesos the new Line 0 of the Trolleybuswhich will go from Chapultepec to University and will cross 10 city halls, in addition to having 30 connection points to more transportation options, such as Metro, Metrobús, Modal Transfer Centers (Cetram) and other Trolleybus lines.

“Line 0 symbolizes the commitment of a city that moves towards sustainable, equitable and emission-free mobility, strengthening the public transportation network with modern and environmentally beneficial infrastructure,” indicates the Budget project.
