Beatriz Merino, former ombudsman, presented her irrevocable resignation to the executive presidency of the César Vallejo University (UCV). This was communicated in a letter addressed to the founder of the institution, César Acuña Peralta. Merino indicated that his departure will be effective on December 31, 2025, after holding the position for almost a decade.
“I have been performing this function since January 1, 2016, and this is to communicate my irrevocable resignation“Merino said in the letter, in which he also expressed his gratitude to the teaching and administrative staff and students for the trust and support received during his administration.
In his resignation letter, Merino highlighted the progress made by the institution in the last decade. He recalled that, when he assumed the presidency, the UCV did not have an institutional license and had one with just over 60 thousand students. Today, as he noted, the university brings together 215 thousand students and occupies seventh place in the ranking of private universities prepared by SUNEDU.
The former executive president maintained that she leaves the institution “with the satisfaction of having delivered” and reiterated her recognition of the human team that accompanied her during her management. “I wish you the greatest professional and personal success.”, he expressed.
Beatriz Merino’s resignation will take effect on December 31, 2025, which opens a period to carry out an orderly transition in the executive presidency of the university. Until that date, he will continue to perform his duties.
