Trump reiterates that they will soon carry out ground attacks: “We know where the bad guys live”

Donald Trump affirms that he will speak with Maduro soon to tell him "something very specific"

The US president warned that any country that produces and traffics drugs to the United States “is subject to attacks,” suggesting that he could also include Colombia in the ground operations against drug trafficking with which he threatens Venezuela.

The president of the United States, Donald Trump, stated this Tuesday, December 2, that ground attacks against drug trafficking cartels in Venezuela will soon begin. He assured that they have identified the routes and know where “the bad guys” live.

“We know what the routes are, we know everything about them, we know where they live, where the bad guys live and we are going to start with that very soon,” Trump said at the end of a meeting with his cabinet at the White House.

The president assured that just as they attacked by sea, they will do so by land. In this regard, he noted that by sea the flow of drug trafficking was reduced by 90% and they have saved “hundreds of thousands of lives.”

When referring to the bombings, he assured that by land it is easier. The president already warned last week that his Armed Forces will act “very soon” on the ground against alleged Venezuelan drug traffickers and announced to pilots and airlines that they should consider Venezuelan airspace “closed in its entirety.”

The United States government ordered a military deployment to the Caribbean in mid-August to combat drug trafficking cartels. Around 20 boats and nearly 80 people who were allegedly transporting drugs have died in this operation.

On November 13, it announced a new phase of its military offensive against drug trafficking, under the name Operation Southern Spear, after the arrival in the Caribbean of the world’s largest aircraft carrier, the Gerald Ford.

The United States government accuses Nicolás Maduro and senior members of his administration of leading the so-called Cartel of the Suns, an organization designated as terrorist and which is on the list that includes criminal structures such as Hezbollah, ISIS and Al Qaeda.

The Maduro administration rejects the accusations of the United States and assures that the only interest is to “seize” the resources and wealth of Venezuela.
