Under the slogan, “Let’s stop the war before it starts!”, next Saturday, December 6, Americans will take to the streets to raise their voices against the attacks carried out by Donald Trump against Venezuela.
The conveners recalled that 22 years ago the United States (USA) declared war in Iraq based on lies and now the White House intends to do the same, but this time against Venezuela. For this reason, North Americans are calling for a protest to stop this escalation of war, which will affect all the countries of the Caribbean and the south.
Rejection of the Trump administration increases
Trump’s recent statements that ground attacks would begin “very soon,” demanding the “closure” of his airspace and ending negotiations with the Venezuelan government increased the level of rejection of his administration.
Adding to that, Pete Heseth’s order to kill all survivors of vessels disabled by US missile attacks on the high seas is a clear war crime. Missile attacks on shipping in the Caribbean and Pacific are a clear violation of international law, as would all future Pentagon attacks.
In a note published by the American portal Answer, it is noted that 70% of the population disagrees with these attacks and opposes a military intervention against Venezuela. People are understanding the absurd and twisted pretexts that the Trump administration offers about drug trafficking, for which it has provided no evidence.
Learn from the past
The citizens of the United States ask their Government to remember the terrible consequences that the Vietnam and Iraq wars brought to this country, when at that time they promised quick victories and that did not happen.
For this reason, those calling for the protest consider that the idea that the United States could carry out military invasions in the heart of Latin America without a massive reaction is far-fetched.
