SANTO DOMINGO .-Lto the First Chamber of the Criminal Chamber of the Court of Appeal of the Judicial Department of Santiago confirmed the sentence that, in the process known as Casa Blanca Night Club, imposes 20, 15, 10 and 7 years in prison on those accused of being part of a criminal organization dedicated to human trafficking aggravated, money laundering and carrying and possession of illegal weapons (of war).
The first instance sentence condemns Juan Antonio Fernández Fernández to 20 yearsupon payment of a fine of 175 minimum wages and compensation of RD$14,000,000 in favor of two of the victimsaccepting the opinion of the Public Ministry.
Jolbert José Ramírez and Jairo Rafael Correa They received sentences of 7 years in prison, as well as the payment of 75 minimum wages.
The criminal organization moved to different cities in Colombia and Venezuela to capture and bring Santiago to the victims that were taken to Casa Blanca Night Club, where some were tied to the legs of the beds, they were fines imposed for arriving late and for not being on time when they were required by a client or a member of the criminal organization.
Women were offered to men and, in addition, used to advertise the same place where they were exploited.
Likewise, the court rejected the incidental request for extinction of the criminal action presented by Jolbert José Ramírez Palomo in a failed attempt to evade the criminal sanctions against him and to which the other defendants in the case joined.
In its decision, the high court also exempts the payment of the costs of the appeal initiated by the Public Ministry through the deputy attorney general.
