A 4-month-old baby died in Santander after suffering a head injury. Authorities are investigating whether it was an accident or possible abuse.
The authorities are investigating the cause of the death of a four-month-old baby in the Videlso neighborhood of the municipality of Los Patios, in the metropolitan area of Cúcuta.
The minor, identified as Angel David Caucawas transferred by emergency in an ambulance to the Duarte Medical Clinic, where the doctors determined, after providing the pertinent care, that he was facing a brain edemaa hematoma in the parietal area and a severe head trauma.
Despite the efforts of professionals, the child died at the medical center where he was being treated.

Police Colonel Sandra Mora, who is the Secretary of Government of the municipality of Los Patios, told La FM that, “what happened to the minor hurts us. A child who arrives at 12 at night at the Los Patios hospital is apparently treated urgently, is stabilized and transferred to Medical Duarte, and at 4 am dies.”
It is expected to hear from Forensic Medicine the report on the causes of the minor’s death. According to the report submitted by the relatives to the Child Protection Police, the little boy fell from a sofa where he was left while his parents were carrying out a mess.

The Metropolitan Police of Cúcuta (Mecuc), through the Childhood and Adolescence group, began investigations to rule out a possible case of abuse and clarify the circumstances surrounding his death.
The Childhood and Adolescence Protection Group, together with Sijín, took on the case last Sunday. They stated that they are waiting for Forensic Medicine to report or give clearer guidance on whether the version given is true or whether other situations that led to the death of the minor could really have occurred.
