The emergency in the rural area of the city has left multiple victims.
A serious emergency was recorded in the south of Ibagué, specifically in the sector known as Floridaadjacent to the path of the same name in township 17.
More than 20 families remain incommunicado due to the overflow of the La Volcana ravinewhich also caused the destruction of two pedestrian bridges.
Marisela Chaguala, president of the Community Action Board, expressed her concern about the situation that is considerably affecting the farmers of the area, especially the coffee, banana and plantain producers.

“The situation caused by an avalanche has affected us, since they took us two bridges that were the access to the farms on the path. The structures were destroyed by stones and dragging material,” he indicated.
According to the president of the Community Action Board, it is required urgent caresince producing families need to evacuate their products and fulfill their obligations in the urban area.
“Many families need to get their market, considering that animals like mules, which transport their food, have not been able to travel due to the rising of the stream. It is quite deep and they cannot pass through there,” added the community leader.

The inhabitants have also expressed their fear, since some cracks are evident in the upper part of the mountain, which could generate new collapses and cause a greater tragedy. This road is used by about 20 families.
Finally, the community leader assured that they have already contacted the corresponding authorities; However, they have not received the necessary help to carry out the pertinent studies to reconstruct the structures.
