Close result in Apra and López Aliaga pulls Absalón Vásquez

Close result in Apra and López Aliaga pulls Absalón Vásquez

It was an unexpected day at Apra. At the close of this edition, with 98.38% of the minutes processed, the journalist Pitter Enrique Valderrama Peña had been surpassing his closest challenger, Javier Velásquez Quesquén, in the primary elections under the modality of one militant, one vote, by just 141 votes.

According to the ONPE report, Valderrama reached 26.15% with 3,580 votes, while Velásquez Quesquén obtained 25.12%, with 3,439 votes.

If these figures are confirmed 100%, the list that would represent the APRA party would be led by Valderrama; The vice presidencies would fall to María Inés Valdivia Acuña and Lucio Antonio Vésquez Sánchez.

15,278 star militants participated in this election, which meant a turnout of 37.23%; to that percentage of the minutes processed.

In the morning, the pre-candidate Jorge del Castillo called for respecting the results of the process.

“The initial conviction is to choose an option, but the second is to support whoever wins,” he said.

As the race progressed, Carla García, daughter of former president Alan García and running for vice president on Velásquez Quesquén’s list, received the support of her younger brother Federico Dantón García.

“Dear sister, from a distance, I salute your effort, your perseverance and your conviction. And I also salute the fact that you have carried out a campaign so focused on joy and so focused on unity. I am sure that this Sunday the popular and provincial formula will triumph,” said Federico Dantón in a video broadcast on social networks.

RP PULLS ABSALÓN VÁSQUEZ

In Renovación Popular, 9,792 militants came to vote, equivalent to 26.89% of the registry. With 100% counted by the ONPE, RLA obtained 9,136 votes (93.3%), in addition to 153 blank votes and 503 null votes, a sign that it did not achieve unanimous support as expected.

No incidents were recorded during the elections, although the most striking thing occurred at the end of the day, when the former Minister of Agriculture and personal friend of Alberto Fujimori, Absalón Vásquez, was presented as a candidate for the national Senate with number 5.

It was a strategic move, aimed at capturing the provincial Fujimori vote.

COMBINE VS. BUTTERS

In Avanza País, although only delegates were elected, as in the rest of the groups, the absence of the presidential candidate Phillip Butters, who did not go to vote, was surprising, as confirmed by sources from Peru21. This media tried to contact him to find out the reasons, but did not receive a response.

SUFFRAGE. César Combina attended to vote in Avanza País; Phillip Butters, no.

The alert was launched by the militant César Combina, who faces an expulsion process. “And has Phillip Butters already voted in the primaries? Very strange that ‘the only candidate’ promoted by the leadership has not had the desire to vote for his delegates. I’m sorry, lukewarm and indifferent,” he published on his X account.

CUÑA IN THE NORTH

In the morning, the leader of Alianza Para el Progreso (APP), César Acuña, went to vote in La Libertad as part of the election of the 24 delegates who will define the candidacies of his political organization. During his participation, he assured that APP is ready to assume a central role at the national level.

Along these lines, he insisted that “after 25 years of the party, APP now has the opportunity to govern Peru,” emphasizing that the group has reached political maturity.

SUPPORT. Federico Dantón García expressed solidarity with his sister Carla García.

KEIKO IN CAMPAIGN

In the internal election of Fuerza Popular, 40 delegates were chosen who will vote next week to ratify the list proposed by the national leadership.

In this context, Keiko Fujimori confirmed that she will lead the presidential formula towards the 2026 elections, accompanied by Luis Galarreta in the first vice presidency and Miguel ‘Miky’ Torres in the second.

Fujimori maintained that his party’s priority will be to recover “the security, order and tranquility” of the country, pillars that will form a central part of his program.

He also recognized the goal of reaching a largely undecided electorate by pointing out that “the challenge for politicians is to be able to reach the hearts of Peruvians.”

CAST VOTE. Keiko Fujimori attended election day.

PURPLE PARTY

In this same primary election process, in the Purple Party, 30 delegates were elected.

Finally, at this stage of the process, what is missing is that next Sunday, December 7, the delegates elected yesterday in the 34 parties and three alliances will elect their candidates for the presidency and the chambers of Deputies and Senators. We will be attentive.

JP pre-candidate murdered

It is the first crime in this electoral campaign

ALERT. Ipanaqué and Sánchez in the middle of the campaign.

The Piura region is in a state of shock after the murder of lawyer Percy Luber Ipanaqué Navarro (46), pre-candidate for the Chamber of Deputies for the Together for Peru (JP) party.

Ipanaqué’s remains were buried yesterday, two days after being the victim of an attack by an alleged hitman.

Ipanaqué was driving his white vehicle (plate P1H-114) in the vicinity of the Mapfre holy field, in the Tacalá area, when he was intercepted by two hooded individuals traveling on a motorcycle, who opened fire at close range and at close range. The hooded hitmen managed to escape.

JP CONDEMNS CRIME

“Comrade Percy Ipanaqué has been a victim of those who saw in him a potential enemy in the next general elections; also of those who intend to continue and perpetuate institutional corruption to enrich themselves, using common crime as an instrument to control opponents,” says a statement from JP, chaired by Roberto Sánchez, which condemns the attack.

I KNEW THAT

-In Popular Action. Until the closing of this edition, the pre-candidate Julio Chávez told Perú21 that he would have won the internal consultation in his party to be the presidential candidate. However, the other candidate, Víctor Andrés García Belaunde, said that this result would not be binding.

-In the Apra. According to the results, Carla García, Jorge del Castillo and Luis Delgado Núñez del Arco were the most voted for the national Senate.
