“Possibly in the bank (Compartamos México) we will do something similar and that is because the systems are becoming obsolete,” Majós said. “What we are looking for is to modernize our system so that all these new technologies such as chatbots or Artificial Intelligence can do it in a more natural way.”
The manager highlighted that the first step before implementing AI tools, the group will seek to learn and understand what opportunities are within its reach. He stressed that they are not seeking to implement these tools as a “fad” but rather to create a hybrid service so that clients do not lose contact with the promoters.
Majós highlighted that modernizing their systems does not imply that they are having problems generating credit but rather it is an investment strategy that involves all businesses. At the moment there is no estimate of how much this renovation could entail, but they hope to have a figure in 2025.
They expect double digit growth
By 2026, better economic dynamism, combined with the arrival of the World Cup, could help the bank grow double digits. The growth of consumer credit is a great opportunity for Gentera (via ConCrédito), since its market share in this segment is small, which allows it greater growth potential.
“We understand that it does not happen in all types of credit, but in working capital, and in the sector we serve, it is going to be a good year (2026),” said Majós.
The 2026 World Cup will be an event that will attract foreign visitors, and although Gentera expects a short period in which economic activity and consumption will grow, they do not consider that this growth will last for long.
“Of course we have to take advantage of the moment and be there so that if at that moment our clients need some credit we can assist them,” said Iván Mancillas, director of the bank in Mexico.
