Colombia restores flights with Venezuela

The president of Colombia, Gustavo Petro, ordered the restoration of civil flights between his country and Venezuela, in response to recent threats from the US president, Donald Trump, regarding the closure of international airspace.

“Colombia reestablishes civil air service with Venezuela and invites the world to do so. It is time for dialogue, not barbarism,” he said in a message published on the social network X.

The head of state added: “The United States does not have the right to close Venezuelan airspace. It can do so with its airlines, but not with those of the world.” With these statements, Colombia ratifies its will for peace and positions itself in defense of the air sovereignty of the region.

For her part, the Colombian Minister of Transportation, María Fernanda Rojas, questioned the alert issued by the Federal Aviation Administration about alleged insecurity conditions in Venezuela.
