In the first fortnight of July and December of each year, more than 4 million workers on the private sector payroll receive payment of the gratification.
In this context, it is necessary to specify some important aspects that we should all know.
Who will receive the December bonus?
Those workers in the private sector who are on the payroll, and workers in the public sector under the labor regime of private activity, have the right to receive bonuses.
When is the deadline to pay the December bonus?
The deadline for payment of said benefit expires on Monday, December 15, 2025.
Companies that do not make the deposit on time could receive a fine that could reach more than S/120,000, depending on the labor regime and the number of workers affected.
How many people will receive the December bonus?
It is estimated that more than 4 million people will receive the December 2025 bonus. The total payment amount would be approximately S/10,000 million.
How much will be the amount of bonus we will receive?
If a worker has been on a company’s payroll since July 1, 2025, the bonus will be, in principle, the full amount of 1 gross salary.
It should be noted that this amount will not be subject to any discount (AFP, Income Tax, etc.).
However, if the person worked only 1 month between July and December 2025, they will not receive the full bonus, but rather a proportional part.
Additionally, it must be remembered that you will also receive an EXTRAORDINARY BONUS of 9% of your salary, corresponding to the contribution to ESSALUD.
Therefore, this means that you will receive an amount greater than the net salary that you normally get each month in your pocket.
For example:
• Gross Salary = S/2,000 | Net Salary = S/1,740, and the bonus + bonus will be S/2,180, which means 25% more of the net income.
• Gross Salary = S/3,000 | Net Salary = S/2,580, and the bonus + bonus will be S/3,270, which means 27% more of the net income.
• Gross Salary = S/4,000 | Net Salary = S/3,356, and the bonus + bonus will be S/4,360, which means 30% more of the net income.
• Gross Salary = S/5,000 | Net Salary = S/4,104, and the bonus + bonus will be S/5,450, which means 33% more of the net income.
• Gross Salary = S/10,000 | Net Salary = S/7,637, and the bonus + bonus will be S/10,900, which means 43% more of the net income.
Who will not receive the bonus?
Not all employment regimes receive bonuses:
• Small business workers in the REMYPE regime receive half of this benefit.
• Public sector workers receive a “bonus” instead of the bonus, the amount of which is S/300 (determined by the MEF).
• Interns and young people in job training receive half a financial subsidy after completing 6 months, which does not necessarily occur in July and December.
• Microenterprise workers, independent and informal workers, do not receive bonuses.
