Montecristi.- A cargo of 730,000 cigarettes brand Capital of illegal origin, was occupied by soldiers of the Dominican Republic Army (ERD) assigned to the Detachment of The Matas of Santa Cruzfrom the province Montecristi.
The illicit merchandise was transported camouflaged inside international shipping boxes in a truck Isuzuwhite, plate L466477.
The vehicle was driven by Ericson Rodríguez Peraltawho was traveling in the company of Angel Miguel Jimenez Sanchezboth detained during the operation.
Attempt to evade military check
The individuals attempted to evade the post military checkbut they were intercepted by ERD units.

Both the detainees and the truck and the merchandise were transferred to the headquarters of the 10th ERD Infantry Battalionfor the corresponding legal purposes.
The Army reiterated that these results are part of the operational arranged by the Army of the Dominican Republic (ERD) to combat illicit actions in the border region.
