Officials of the Bolivarian National Guard (GNB) They arrested a man that was transporting more than five kilograms of drugspresumably marijuana, camouflaged inside a container of professional pasta. The discovery occurred at the checkpoint established in Peracal, Bolívar municipality, in the border area of the Táchira state. This during a routine verification procedure carried out by military personnel.
As reported by the local media La Nación Newspaperthe man was traveling as a passenger in a motorcycle taxi that he had boarded in the city of San Antonio del Táchira. His final destination, according to the data provided after the arrest, was the city of Valencia, in the state of Carabobo.
During the inspection, the uniformed officers of Border Detachment 212 detected irregularities in the cuñete that the citizen was carrying with him. When checking the content, They located eight packages that generated immediate suspicion due to their shape and sealing.
After orientation testing, officials confirmed that it was suspected marijuana, distributed in packages designed to make detection difficult.
The substance had a total weight of five kilos, two hundred and forty grams, an amount that – according to security agencies – is related to the usual methods of drug trafficking through land routes used in the border area.
After the seizure, officials immediately arrested the suspect. The case was left at the disposal of the Public Ministry, which will begin the corresponding investigations.
