The Government issued a Supreme Decree in compliance with the Fifty-Third Final Complementary Provision of the 2025 Budget Lawwhich orders salary increases for teachers in two stages: March and November.
In its article 1, the standard establishes the Comprehensive Monthly Remuneration (RIM) per hour of the First Magisterial Scale in S/ 116.69reference for calculation on the other scales.
With this adjustment, teachers currently perceive between S/ 3500 and S/ 7351 for days of 30 hoursand between S/ 4667 and S/ 9801 for days of 40 hoursaccording to the Ministry of Education (Minedu).
New amounts for contracted teachers
The Supreme Decree also establishes the new monthly remuneration for teachers hiredaccording to modality, level and work day (30 hours):
- EBR Initial / Primary / Secondary: S/ 3500.70
- Initial / Primary EBE: S/ 3500.70
- EBA Initial – Intermediate / Advanced: S/ 3500.70
- Basic and Medium ETP: S/ 3500.70
In addition, a remuneration of S/ 4667.60 for contracted teachers who work as Pronoei coordinators, ONDEC Coordinator Teacher or ODEC.
Allowances for additional working hours for management positions
The rule increases the allocation for additional work day for teachers in managerial, hierarchical positions or education specialists.
Multigrade or multi-teaching institutions (30 hours):
- Eighth scale: S/ 2450.49
- Seventh: S/ 2217.11
- Sixth: S/ 2042.08
- Fifth: S/ 1750.35
- Fourth: S/ 1516.97
- Third: S/ 1400.28
- Second: S/ 1283.59
- First: S/ 1166.90
Single-teacher institutions (30 hours):
The amounts are the same as in multigrade institutions.
The financing comes from the resources provided in the article 53 of Legislative Decree 1440.He Ministry of Economy and Finance will update the new amounts in the Human Resources Computer Application (AIRHSP).
More than 426 thousand teachers benefited
According to Minedu, more than 426 thousand teachers from all over the country have already received the second tranche of increasesfulfilling the commitment to revalue teaching work and strengthen the Public Teaching Career.
The Minister of Education, Jorge Figueroahighlighted that this salary increase is “a recognition of their efforts” and progress in the policies of revaluation of the teaching profession.
“This salary increase is a recognition of their efforts and a firm step in the revaluation of their work throughout the national territory,” he stressed.
The owner specified that the second tranche represents an important advance for improve the economic stability of the teaching profession and move towards quality public education.
