The Union of Administrative Workers of Petroperu (STAPP) sent a letter to the President of the Republic, peter castleto demand the resignation of the general manager of said state institution, Hugo Chávez Arévalo, who is involved in tax investigations.
The document asks to justify the reason for Chávez Arévalo’s permanence in office, and they also describe him as “a character lacking the merits that said position requires such as experience, morals and people skills.”
“Today in our company there is a state of impatience and uncertainty due to actions taken that had never been seen before and not precisely because they are successful and modern in the management of personnel, but on the contrary, far from it, with absolute ignorance of what it means manage a company”, reads the document sent this Monday, March 14.
Likewise, the union denounced that workers with many years of service have been fired “with above-average and high grades under the pretext, in some cases, of applying a new personnel policy, theirs, demonstrating not having an iota of what it is about”.
At another extreme of the trade, it is pointed out that the workers live “under the constant threat of dismissal” and warn of “anonymous emails” in which they threaten “with the dismissal of those who record any act or comment on any situation that occurs in the company”.
“What should we call this arrogant and unprecedented threat? but a tyranny in a country in full rule of law and that must be corrected in time”, the union pointed out in the document.
It should be remembered that Hugo Chavez is investigated in the Petroperú case. The authorities investigate alleged irregularities in the tender for the purchase of biodiesel from the company Heaven Petroleum Operators.
According to the tax thesis, on October 18, 2021, Karelim López, Samir Abudayeh and Petroperú officials met so that Abudayeh’s company would be the winner of the diesel fuel bidding process.
