Protesters in Urabá ask for speed in the delivery and formalization of properties.
A group of more than 89 people, representatives of peasant associations from Urabá Antioquia, began a protest with a indefinite unemployment and the blocking of one of the main roads in this subregion, as pressure for the National Government to advance in the delivery and formalization of its lands.
The mobilization demands from the State speed in land access and formalization processesas well as full guarantees for rural communities.
Likewise, the protesters demand a urgent reform to the land replacement program, denouncing the failure to comply with agreements established with the National Land Agency.

The protest mainly affects the San Juan de Urabá road, where the total closure of the highway that connects with Arboletes, generating great traffic congestion.
Ayineth Pérez, president of the Peasant Women’s Movement of Urabá, explained: “These communities went on indefinite strike due to non-compliance with the processes of the National Land Agency. We have been waiting for real solutions for years and we see no progress.”

The communities assured that the strike will continue until there are dialogues and solutions from the National Government. In addition, they ask for compliance with the commitments made regarding land restitution.
Compliance with judicial rulings that recognize their right to land faces what protesters describe as a omission of the State to materialize these decisions.
