The title chances, which would already be remote even in the case of victory, came to an end for Cruzeiro. This Saturday (29), Raposa drew 1-1 with Ceará, in the 36th round of the Brazilian Championship, at Arena Castelão, in Fortaleza.

The Minas Gerais team, in third place, had 69 points, six less than Flamengo. Despite being able to equal the score of Rubro-Negro, leader of the competition, the celestial team would not be able to stay ahead, as they would have one less victory. Vozão, with 43 points, is 14th, still threatened by relegation, just two points behind Z4, as the group of the last four placed, who go down to Series B, is called.
In the first half, Cruzeiro had two goals disallowed for offside, both by midfielder Christian, in the 30th and 44th minutes. Better for Ceará, who found the net 10 minutes into the final stage, with Vinícius Zanocelo. The midfielder received the ball from midfielder Lucas Mugni in a counterattack, finished from outside the area and goalkeeper Cássio was unable to save.
Raposa looked for a draw at 25. Full-back Kaiki Bruno was launched into the area on the left and crossed low. Vozão’s defense tried to clear it and defender Willian Machado – who tried to get ahead of striker Gabriel Barbosa – deflected the ball into the goal, scoring against. Both teams had chances to win, but the score did not change.
Vitória leaves Inter at Z4
Earlier this Saturday, Vitória beat Mirassol 2-0 at Barradão, in Salvador, and left the relegation zone. Worse for Internacional, who entered the Z4 with two rounds remaining until the end of the Brasileirão. Leão Bahia has 42 points and moved up to 15th. The São Paulo team, with 63 points, missed the chance to guarantee an early place in the group stage of the next Libertadores, but remains in fourth.
VICTORY OF VICTORYAAAAAA! 🦁
With goals scored by our top-scoring defender Lucas Halter, and our number 10 Matheuzinho, Leão beat Mirassol 2-0 and leaves the relegation zone.

Vitória’s triumph began to take shape 24 minutes into the first half. Striker Erick crossed from the right and Lucas Halter headed it into the small area. Goalkeeper Walter managed to block it, but the rebound fell to the defender himself, who sent it into the net. In the final stage, at 44, midfielder Matheuzinho, with a penalty, guaranteed a positive result for the hosts.
The red-and-black team surpassed Santos and Inter, who have 41 points. Last Friday (28), Peixe beat Sport 3-0 at Vila Belmiro, in Santos (SP), while Colorado was beaten by Vasco 5-1 in São Januário, in Rio de Janeiro. By goal difference, Alvinegro is in 16th and the Gauchos in 17th, opening the relegation zone.
Under new (old) management
Due to the defeat, Inter fired coach Ramón Diaz this Saturday. World and Libertadores champion with Colorado in 2006, Abel Braga was hired a few hours later to lead the team in the final two rounds of the Brasileirão. The coach, who will begin his eighth spell at the club, is the one who led the team from Rio Grande do Sul the most in history (340 games).
