The women’s football team lost to Norway 3-1 at the Ciudad de La Línea Municipal Stadium, which is in the province of Cádiz, Spain. This Friday’s game (28) was the penultimate of 2025. The result ended an undefeated streak of eight matches for the green and yellow team. The Scandinavians have not beaten Brazil since 1996.
Next Tuesday (2), the Brazilians say goodbye to the season with another friendly, this time against Portugal. The game will be held at the Aveiro Municipal Stadium, home of the opponents, at 4:45 pm (Brasília time).
Brazil felt the absence of important players who are among those called up, such as full-back Yasmin (pain in her right knee) and midfielder Duda Sampaio (suffered a stomp on her right foot), and took a while to find her feet, while Norway were lethal. In the 10th minute, defender Tuva Hansen won the defense, launched a counterattack and found Signe Gaupset in the area. The midfielder hit the left corner of goalkeeper Lorena.
When he stopped abusing long balls, Arthur Elias’ team started to have more opportunities. Cecilie Fiskerstrand made at least two great saves, in the 38th and 42nd minutes, from shots by striker Bia Zaneratto and midfielder Ary Borges, respectively. At 43, the goalkeeper could do nothing about defender Mariza’s header, after a corner taken by midfielder Angelina from the left, which left everything the same.
Norway came back better after the break and soon returned to the lead. In the seventh minute, on a ball recovered by the Scandinavians still in the Brazilian field, Ada Hegerberg was thrown into the area, behind defender Isa Haas. The striker, considered one of the best of all time, had the peace of mind to roll on the left and leave Gaupset free to score her second.
The Brazilians tried to press in search of a draw, but, disorganized, they gave way to more counterattacks. At 21, midfielder Emma Stølen advanced from midfield, pursued by Yayá, and was pulled by the Brazilian midfielder at the edge of the area. The penalty was taken by Hegerberg, who hit Lorena’s right corner, scoring the Norwegians’ third, giving final numbers to the duel.
