The game
Tricolor das Laranjeiras was not aware of São Paulo on Thursday night at Maracanã. And, after just 8 minutes of the first half, the scoring opened thanks to a goal from a penalty kick by Uruguayan Canobbio. Seven minutes later, Flu expanded with midfielder Martinelli, who took advantage of the ball to hit the empty goal.
The team led by Argentine coach Luis Zubeldía continued to be better in the match, and reached the third in the initial stage, in the 23rd minute, when Serna counterattacked and passed the ball to Nonato, who beat Ferraresi’s marking before hitting the ball past goalkeeper Young.

After the break, Fluminense didn’t take their foot off the accelerator and continued to dominate the match. And the fourth came in the 24th minute, with John Kennedy after receiving a pass from Serna. Six minutes later, the Laranjeiras team reached the fifth in a new counterattack that ended in a shot from Canobbio.
Flu gave final numbers in the 41st minute, when Ganso launched Soteldo on the left wing and the Venezuelan crossed low for Serna, who just put it into the goal.
