France adds to unjustified alarm by discouraging trips to Venezuela

The French government recommended its citizens who were planning to visit Venezuela to postpone their trip due to the tensions generated by the United States after the war threats against Venezuela.

In a statement, Paris urged the French who are in the South American nation to verify with the flight companies the status of your connections to avoid being stranded. It also issued a safety alert citing the recent suspension of international flights.

The Executive Vice President of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez, denounced this Wednesday night the “double standards” of the United States Government, whose administration allows repatriation flights for compatriots while putting pressure on other international airlines not to travel to Venezuela.

It should be noted that the Minister of the Interior, Justice and Peace, Diosdado Cabello, during his program Con el Mazo Dando on Wednesday, also questioned that the German government also advised against traveling to Venezuela, pointing out the contradiction that, while they issue these recommendations, their own ambassador is in the country enjoying the streets and Venezuelan daily life.

The National Institute of Civil Aeronautics (Inac) revoked the concession to six airlines that did not resume their operations in Venezuela “for joining the actions of state terrorism promoted by the US government.”

The announcement issued through the entity’s social networks dated November 26, 2025, was published in the Official Gazette No. 43264 of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela in which it mentions the following airlines:

  • Iberia Airlines of Spain SA
  • Portuguese Air Transport SA (TAP Portugal)
  • Aerovías del Continente Americano SA (AVIANCA)
  • Aerovías de Integración Regional SA (LATAM AIRLINES COLOMBIA)
  • Turkish Airlines
  • GOL Linhas Aereas SA

The International Air Transport Association (IATA), which includes more than 300 airlines around the world, asked the Venezuelan authorities this Thursday to “reconsider” their revocation of flight concession to six airlines that had suspended their flights to the country after a security alert issued by the United States.

It is worth noting that in 2019 these same airlines also pulled operations under the same type of pressure. The companies assured that they acted for safety and that they followed the recommendations of AESA, the Spanish air authority, which asked to avoid Venezuelan airspace.
