Peter Brand.— A man who was actively wanted by the authorities for his alleged connection with a homicidewas shot dead this Thursday afternoon in the El Oxígeno sector after confronting members of the Criminal Investigations Department (DICRIM) of the National Police.
The victim was identified as Julio César Rosario Paulino, 32 years old.
According to the authorities’ preliminary report, the incident occurred when the DICRIM agents, while trying to arrest him, were shot by Rosario Paulino. The police officers were forced to repel aggression to safeguard their lives.
The alleged criminal was seriously injured during the exchange of shots and was immediately transferred to the Dr. Rodolfo de la Cruz Lora Hospital, where unfortunately died while receiving medical attention.
The National Police reported that, at the scene and in the possession of the deceased, a 9mm caliber pistolwhich would have been used to attack the patrol, in addition to several shell casings.
Rosario Paulino’s body was taken to the health center’s morgue and will later be sent to the National Institute of Forensic Sciences (INACIF) for the corresponding legal procedures.
