Maduro: in Venezuela there is direct and true democracy

The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, reiterated that the communal government is “the true direct and real democracy,” pointing out that those who want to see how a people builds on its foundations and its real bases, “look here.”

This Thursday, the president led the presentation of progress in the Consolidation of the Communal Government Route, in the January 23 parish, in Caracas.

It should be remembered that the Simón Bolívar Socialist Commune, of the January 23 parishwas the most voted in the last Popular Consultation on November 23, highlighting that it has 21 communal councils.

He also announced that the Communal Circuit with the most votes in each state will have the 7 projects nominated by the community approved. They will all be executed!

Maduro exalted that the January 23 parish is an example of combat and victory. Therefore, he recalled that, “we are a constitutional and legitimate government, the most democratic that exists on planet Earth.” The president suggested that, from now on, a logo be placed that says, “direct and true democracy.”

Legna Serrano, coordinator of the Self-Government Room, highlighted the operation of the commune and its self-management initiatives, such as the Social Production Company (EPS) “Obreros del Alba”, with qualified labor in blacksmithing and plumbing.

Facing the economic war

Maduro also recalled the times of induced scarcity, in which he mentioned the disappearance of toilet paper and toothpaste.

“The attacks were not against him, but against the people, and his response was to call the people to combat,” he said.

The head of state affirmed that this commune is the “brain of the new democracy effort,” a political model that works “without intermediaries or elites,” that is born from the grassroots of the people and that is opposed to bourgeois or minority democracy.

Communal wineries

Minister for National Commerce, Luis Villegas, reported that the Doña Ligia Winery was the first winery approved in an assembly for financing in the 23 de Enero parish of Caracas. Likewise, the Head of State, Nicolás Maduro, toured the establishment and supervised the quality of products offered to the public with 100% Venezuelan raw materials.

He highlighted that while the economic war against the country was being implemented, the Bolivarian government dedicated itself to working to guarantee 100% food sovereignty throughout the nation.

In this area, the national leader highlighted that communal wineries have a modern payment system from the Workers’ Digital Bank (BDT).

He recalled that even though the country was excluded from the Financial Society for World Interbank Telecommunications in 2022, “Venezuela continues to live and has its internal and international payment system, and no one stops it.”
