The opposition political party Primero Justicia questioned this Wednesday the recent statements of Henrique Capriles Radonski, who rated the Aragua Train as “a mirage” and denied links with President Nicolás Maduro, stating that such a relationship “is science fiction.”
Through a statement on its social network X, the organization clarified that Capriles is not part of its ranks. “Henrique Capriles is not a member of Primero Justicia; he is an alleged elected representative of the Nicolás Maduro regime. He was expelled from Primero Justicia,” the text states.
In turn, the organization criticized what it considers a complacent attitude towards the government. “The people of Venezuela judge the frivolity of those who serve the dictatorship and not freedom,” they stated.
First Justice reiterated its position on the Aragua Train, —considered by several countries as a terrorist organization—, calling it “an obstacle to the democratization of Venezuela and a real risk for security and democracy throughout the region.”
Finally, the party warned that “aligning with Maduro and the Aragua Train in the face of accusations of transnational crime made by the United States and multiple countries in the region, reflects political behavior incompatible with any democratic project.”
The statements come amid growing internal political tensions and international allegations about the expansion of criminal organizations linked to the Venezuelan government.
