The Federation of Rural Teachers (Fedemar) made in a demonstration through the main streets of San Matías to demand that the police authorities speed up the investigations into the aggression against the teacher Lizbeth Gladys Rojas that took place over the weekend inside an educational unit.
The professionals marched to the Comprehensive Police Station in the capital of Mati, where they shouted for that those responsible for the aggression be summoned to testify.
Another demonstration for the same reason was held in the town of Ascensión de la Frontera, 38 kilometers from Tornito, where the teachers repudiated the violent acts committed against their colleague.
“I want to demand that justice be done. My family is subjected to suffering and worry, because I’m not from here and those people who attacked me thought they could do whatever they want with me because they saw me defenseless. I demand that justice be done to me, as a woman and a professional, and that those people who are violent be punished,” said Lizbeth Gladys Rojas, during the protest.
For his part, Osmar López, a Fedemar executive, informed EL DEBER that calls for those responsible to be investigated and punished of this outrage against her teacher colleague to set a precedent and prevent other similar acts from being recorded.
The aggression against the teacher happened inside the unit andducativa de Tornito of the Arnulfo Educational Center Melgar Paz, the weekend. Four relatives of one of her students entered the classroom to beat and insult her. Due to these facts, the teacher filed a complaint with the Police.
