ARC: “The aggression against Ukraine is the manifestation of a global alliance between tyrannies”

Cubanos reclutados por Rusia para combatir contra Ucrania

The Assembly of the Cuban Resistance (ARC) accuses the Cuban regime of being a “moral accomplice” of Moscow.

MIAMI, United States. – The Assembly of the Cuban Resistance (ARC), a coalition of exile organizations based in Miami, described Ukraine’s struggle as “a global beacon of dignity” and accused the Havana regime of being complicit in Russian aggression and sending Cubans as mercenaries to the front, in a statement dated this Wednesday and sent to CubaNet.

In the same statement, the ARC recognizes the leadership of President Donald Trump and the Secretary of State, Marco Rubioin policy towards Cuba and the region, and calls on the international community to redouble its support for Ukrainian sovereignty.

According to the text, the ARC, which brings together exile organizations whose declared objective is the liberation of Cuba and the reestablishment of democratic order on the Island, issues this statement “in light of the dramatic events that are shaking Ukraine.” The group states: “From our trench, which is the unconditional defense of freedom and sovereignty in all its forms, we raise our voices to pay a deep and heartfelt tribute to the Ukrainian nation and its brave people.”

The ARC claims to see in the Ukrainian resistance a mirror of the Cuban fight against totalitarianism. “The Cuban Resistance observes in the determination of the Ukrainian citizen the same indomitable spirit that has sustained the fight of our people against the totalitarian yoke for more than six decades,” the statement indicates. Later, he emphasizes: “Ukraine is not simply a battlefield; it is a global beacon of dignity where millions of people have chosen supreme sacrifice over submission.”

For the coalition, Ukraine’s defense of its territory and its democratic institutions has a dimension that transcends the borders of that country. “Their fight to preserve their culture, their faith, their traditions and their right to live in peace with democratic institutions deserves the recognition of everyone who believes in God, freedom and family,” the text states.

The ARC maintains that “the imperialist aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine is not an isolated conflict, but the manifestation of a global alliance between tyrannies” and specifically denounces governments in the region that, in its opinion, support this policy. In this context, the statement directly points to the Havana regime, which it accuses of having turned Cuba “into a prison,” having “stolen the life, property and hope of its people,” of being a “moral accomplice of the Kremlin” and of “actively” facilitating aggression in Ukraine.

One of the hardest points of the statement is the denunciation of the sending of Cubans as combatants to the war. “It hurts us deeply to know that young Cubans, desperate due to poverty and the lack of freedom imposed by the dictatorship, are recruited and sold as mercenaries to fight against another people that only aspires to be free,” says the ARC.

The text describes this phenomenon as “trade in human life” and adds: “This trade in human life is a stain that falls directly on the tyranny that oppresses Cuba. The Cuban Resistance condemns this infamy in the strongest terms.”

The ARC also emphasizes that it supports diplomatic channels to reach a solution to the conflict. “Peace and stability are fundamental aspirations. We understand the complexity of the geopolitical scenario and deeply respect diplomatic efforts that seek to mitigate human suffering and reach a just solution,” the statement said.

However, he warns that any agreement must be anchored in firm principles. “True peace can only be founded on justice and non-negotiable respect for the territorial integrity and national sovereignty of Ukraine,” the text states, before adding: “History teaches that giving in to tyranny only prolongs suffering and legitimizes aggression. We know this very well as the Cuban resistance.”

In conclusion, the Cuban Resistance Assembly urges “the international community to redouble its support for the Ukrainian people and to ensure that any path to peace guarantees that the attacked nation can chart its own destiny without external coercion.”
