The community of Dosquebradas (Risaralda) remains shocked by the death of Maryuri Gaspar, a 34-year-old woman who lost her life in circumstances that are still under investigation. The case occurred in the Puerto Nuevo neighborhood, where the victim left her home badly injured after an alleged family altercation.

According to preliminary information, the woman was found seriously injured near her home around 1:00 pm on Monday, November 24. Neighbors immediately notified the authorities and Maryuri was taken to the Santa Mónica hospital, but despite medical efforts, she died minutes later due to the severity of her injuries.
The first versions indicate that the argument that preceded the tragedy would have occurred between Maryuri and her daughter, apparently due to a domestic conflict related to changing the Wi-Fi password. Witnesses claim that the fight escalated quickly and ended up triggering the violent episode that the authorities are investigating today.
After the incident, the young woman involved would have left the home and, to date, has not been located. The Police are carrying out work to find his whereabouts, in order to clarify the exact sequence of events and determine if he had any responsibility in the death of his mother.
The Prosecutor’s Office and the Judicial Police are working on collecting testimonies from neighbors, family members and possible witnesses, in addition to analyzing evidence found in the home. The authorities insist that there is still no definitive version and that all hypotheses remain open.
While the investigation progresses, the case has generated deep rejection and concern in the community, which asks to clarify what happened and do justice. The death of Maryuri Gaspar joins a series of events that revive the debate on intra-family conflicts and early attention to situations of violence within the home.
