Measures are adopted in the Modelo prison in Barranquilla after an attack against the infrastructure

After the attack, the man fled along Route 40 in a north-south direction. However, the cameras did not allow the identification of the aggressor or the characteristics of the motorcycle.

A source close to the Modelo prison told La FM that a Security Council and measures were adopted such as self-protection for personnel, greater accompaniment of the district government secretaryas well as the Police.

Likewise, the security cameras of the area and controls and operations are carried out. In addition, the possibility of closing the lane that is next to the penitentiary center is being studied.

The source indicated that, apparently, the attack could be related to a territorial dispute outside the prison, among criminal organizations.

It is worth remembering that last October, several Inpec officials received threats. The first intimidations were delivered at an information point at the El Bosque Penitentiary, warning that they were offering between three and five million pesos for the lives of these servants.

The origin of these intimidations is unknown. However, at that time, they did not rule out that groups are carrying out this type of actions to get the National Government to include them in the urban dialogue tables.
