400 liters of agave for tourists at the festival in Sincos

This Saturday at kilometer 92 of the Central Highway in the district of Sincos, Jauja, the XI Agave Festival will be held, where 400 liters of agave liquor will be distributed free of charge to tourists who attend.

“In Sincos we produce the Cordilleran agave at 3,200 meters of altitude, with which we produce the high-quality agave distillate, the liquor of the Andes, whose consumption dates back to pre-Inca times, even the Chasquis consumed miski opium,” he noted.

THEY PRODUCE. In the family business, they produce the silver distillate and the reposado. They also produce muña, maca and eucalyptus liquors. The production plant is at kilometer 92 of the Central Highway, on the right bank, where the Agave Exportation festival will be held.

The liquors are also exported to the United States, Guatemala, Panama, Australia, New Zealand, Spain, Germany and Mexico, where they are very well received. The businessman selects agaves that are about 10 to 12 years old. Through a process it extracts the sweet liquid known as honey water from the heart of the plant. This liquid undergoes a delicate distillation process, resulting in a refined liquor called “agave distillate” with which it produces various varieties.

Visitors to the agave festival will be able to enjoy the process of preparing the agave by the producers.

Tourists will be able to see the agave production fields. In addition to the distillate production process.

The tourism agencies have already reserved visits for this Saturday, which will leave Huancayo very early.
