Military agents detained a man of Colombian nationality in Peracal (Táchira) who was transporting 10,200 counterfeit dollars.
Details of the procedure were aired on the Instagram account of the Zone Command N 21 of the Bolivarian National Guard (GNB) where it is specified that the subject came as a passenger in a public transport vehicle (Renault Simbol) from Colombia bound for San Cristóbal, capital of Táchira.
The vehicle was checked at the Citizen Service Point in Peracal. There they obtained 190 wads of plain paper, having the same diameter as a 100 US dollar bill. Likewise, hidden in his belongings, the soldiers found a wad of bills in the denomination of one hundred dollars, accounting for the amount of 10,200 counterfeit dollars, the report says. It is presumed that the bills would be used to defraud citizens.
