Even though her detractors may not like it, President Claudia Sheinbaum confirmed the gathering of her movement’s supporters on December 6 in the capital’s main square because “there is a lot to celebrate; they don’t want to celebrate, but there is no problem, it is a free country.”

He considered that Mexico has changed a lot since 2018 and that it is up to this government not to reverse these advances.

In her morning conference, she said that during her meeting with legislators from the three parties that support her (Morena, Labor Party and Green) she invited them to participate in that rally. He stated that there is a lot of unity and that many constitutional reforms and laws have been approved, so he took the opportunity to thank them and invite them to the rally.

For this reason, he questioned the narratives that seek to promote that “there is anger, dissatisfaction, annoyance,” that they have wanted to raise on the networks and… There were four people shouting in Juchitán and 2,000 receiving me; and then they make a whole story that… The truth is, it doesn’t matter, because people know the joy of having received the Interoceanic.

He elaborated on discrediting the publications on social networks about this weekend: “Today they come out with: ‘The worst tour of any President in the entire history of Mexico was the President’s in Oaxaca!’. Well, where did they go? Where were they? It’s ridiculous if two of them shouted at an event, and then there in La Mixteca a group arrived… The extremes also come together, the radicals on one side with the radicals on the other, from the right and ‘left’, supposedly.”

He explained that in the first seven years that his movement is in government, social policy has been significantly transformed through different programs, labor policy with important changes in favor of workers; housing and poverty reduction. “With all these changes we cannot return to the past, as some opposition sectors claim, to return to the regime of privileges,” he added.
