Government begins second land titling project in Los Mina

Santo Domingo. – The Dominican Government, through the Technical Execution Unit for Titling of State Lands (UTECT) and National Assets, started the second titling project in the Los Mina sector, where the delivery of around 2,700 title certificates is projected that will benefit 10,800 people.

When leading the launch event held this Tuesday, Duarte Méndez Peña, executive director of the Technical Execution Unit for State Land Titling, highlighted that with the work carried out by the entity, the land will triple its value and will offer legal security to thousands of families, thus fulfilling the vision of a government committed to ensuring that those most in need obtain their property title certificate.

“Today we begin the titling work on Plots 88-A, 88-B, 90-B-Ref, 130, 132, 133, 135-B of Cadastral Districts No. 16 and 15, respectively; benefiting the residents of the sectors Los Mina Norte, Cancino, La Milagrosa, Invi de Los Mina and La Cruz de Mendoza, of this municipality of Santo Domingo Este, province of Santo Domingo,” said Méndez Peña.

The head of the UTECT recalled that all the work carried out by the State Land Titling Commission is free, so there is no need to pay or give anything to anyone in exchange for it. He added that the President of the Republic, Luis Abinader, has placed the National Titling Plan as one of the central axes of his government management and has demonstrated it with each degree delivery ceremony that he has led.

Meanwhile, the governor of the province of Santo Domingo, Lucrecia Leyba, described the beginning of this new titling project in the sector as an achievement, since with it residents begin a new stage full of possibilities and stability.

“This is a significant ceremony where we celebrate an important milestone in your lives with the launch of the Los Mina degree program. I congratulate Duarte Méndez because once again he has been able to carry out this program, as our president Luis Abinader has precisely wanted,” he said.

While Rubén Céspedes, his director of the Eastern regional, expressed his gratitude for the start of the work and in turn, highlighted the work of President Luis Abinader and the head of the UTETC, Duarte Méndez, for their dedication and dedication so that thousands of Dominican families obtain their property title.

“In this sector of Los Mina, the government has delivered 1,850 titles in the first stage and now we are going to start with the second stage, which will include almost all sectors of Los Mina,” said Céspedes.

Also present at the event were deputy Jorge Frías; Miguel Santana, in charge of titling of National Assets, representing Mr. Rafael Burgos; Erick Guzmán, director of the Dominican Postal Institute; Gilberto Santana, deputy director of Inabie; and Carlos de Jesús, advisor to the Executive Branch on Titling Matters. In addition, Robinson Pérez participated in the activity. CAASD deputy director; councilors Juan Calderón, José Antonio Ramírez and Vandana Rodríguez.

The National Titling Plan implemented by the Dominican Government through the UTECT provides legal security to families, allows them to access formal credit, facilitates legal inheritance and guarantees asset stability for future generations.

With this initiative, the Government reaffirms its commitment to social justice, providing real solutions to more than one hundred thousand families who for decades occupied State land without having legal documents, and who today see their dream of becoming legitimate owners come true.
