Maduro: China-Venezuela relationship passed the test at a difficult time

The President of the Republic Nicolás Maduro referred this Monday to the multiple congratulations he received from other world leaders, among which he highlighted the letters received from Chinese President Xi Jinping, Russian Vladimir Putin and Belarusian Alexander Lukashenko.

Regarding his Chinese counterpart, the president gave sincere thanks for the words and commitment expressed by President Xi, in complex moments in which the country is experiencing. “I appreciate your solidarity with the people of Venezuela and the ratification of the Association in All Tests and All Weather,” said Maduro.

He added that the relations between the two nations are of “trust, deep and broad.” He said that in “these moments that Venezuela has had to live through, the relationship with China largely passes the test and this moment has been to defend and deepen it.”

He indicated that Xi’s letter is important “paragraph by paragraph” because it summarizes the spirit of the relationship between both countries.

On the other hand, he expressed his gratitude to Russian President Vladimir Putin, who congratulated him on his 63rd birthday, and ratified his commitment to continue promoting the joint development of the two countries.

He announced that an intergovernmental Commission between Russia and Venezuela is currently being held, in which new agreements and action plans will be signed, in the fields of oil, science, technology, education, culture and the military.

He also highlighted his gratitude to Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko, of whom he said “he is a great leader, a great friend of Commander Chávez, of Venezuela and a great friend of mine.”

“We are sure that there is a great friendship between our governments and our people,” he said while mentioning that he also received congratulations from the presidents of Cuba, Nicaragua and other world leaders, who will probably be known later.
