ProInversión prepares a portfolio of more than US$20 billion for the next government

ProInversión will present to the next government a mature portfolio of 66 projects valued at more than US$20 billion, which will be awarded between August 2026 and 2028.

This was announced by Luis Del Carpio, executive director of the entity, during his participation in the Infra Summit 2025, where he highlighted that the portfolio includes transportation, sanitation, energy, health, education, irrigation and tourism initiatives, distributed in 22 regions and aimed at benefiting more than 25 million Peruvians.

Del Carpio explained that this portfolio is the result of a maturation process that, in recent years, has advanced despite the absence of “windows of opportunity” to award new contracts.

“In Peru we must learn to manage the difficulty and not become paralyzed. There are no perfect projects, what exists is a solid portfolio in execution,” he said.

The official highlighted that ProInversión has managed to consolidate a fifth-generation Public Private Partnership (PPP) model, known as APP 5.0, which incorporates sustainability standards, interference management, advanced digitalization—such as the use of BIM—and inter-institutional coordination through platforms shared with the MTC, Ositrán and other public organizations. This new methodology, he stated, will accelerate deadlines and reduce delays that historically affect infrastructure in the country.

In addition to the portfolio for the next government, ProInversión plans to award 24 projects and seven addendums before July 2026, for more than US$10 billion.

These include the Ancón industrial park, wastewater treatment plants, hospitals, transmission lines and the addendum for the Matarani port. The expansion of Metro Line 1, airport projects in the second group of regions and road network number 6 are also advancing.

Del Carpio highlighted that Peru continues to be at the center of global interest in infrastructure and that PPPs have demonstrated their long-term sustainability. “Infrastructure projects transform lives. The challenge now is to build on what has been advanced, not to restart each cycle with each government,” he said.
